JTPTrust young gentlemen who intitially took part in a training video in 2007 will be be pleased to hear that singing teachers are still benefitting from the result.
The video, which has since been shown annually at the Association of Teachers of Singing Teacher Training Course, and also in Italy and Germany, was much appreciated by the teachers. This year the course took place at Chetham’s School of Music.
The video explains the pedagogical approach which we take to training young voices in the JTPTrust ans follows Boys through the various stages of the voice change. Twenty boys in total demonstrate and these include William Pearson and David Casey.
Extracts from the Opera ‘Brunel:The Little Man in the Tall Hat’ are amongst the other videos.
A continuing thank you to all the boys and their parents once more for allowing the use of this precious video. In this way, the Trust is making a valuable contribution to the understanding of the adolescent voice.
JTPTrust Director is planning a similar video with the girls. Girls also experience a voice change in their teens.
