Welcome to the new term and a warm thank you to those of you who gave us Christmas gifts. Congratulations to all of you who passed Musical Theatre Examinations. Everyone passed with Merits and Distinctions; the highest mark this year being Tamara Lee with 94 marks at Grade 4.

WEB-SITE AND TWITTER From 1 vJan 2015 Newsletters will be given at the beginning of each 5 week term in class and posted on the www.jtptrust.org BLOG (to be found on the right of the home page). Those of you on Twitter will receive a prompt each time a Newsletter is posted and we will also remind you to look via e-mail. Similarly with Concert and Event letters.

All Intermediate and Senior Classes will be performing at the annual Cabaret and (short) AGM on February 1 at 6pm, plus those few younger singers who took part in the SMVC Concert on December 20th. If you achieved 90+ marks in your exam you may be offered a small solo or verse. (For clarity, anyone performing will have the words ‘Cabaret’ written in the left corner above). There will be a Cabaret afternoon rehearsal commencing at 2.30pm.

Younger sinegers not involved in the Cabaret/AGM please do come and watch with your parents! Your first performance this term will be…

…THE JTPTRUST ANNUAL SOLO FESTIVAL. This event will take place on Sunday 15 March at St Barnabas Church between 1.30pm and 9.30pm ( youngest classes first) We encourage all singers, however new, to enter two classes, a set solo from your next Grade and a Show song. Cost is £5 per 2 classes (£3 per single class) and £1 spectators. You will receive a written adjudication. Our adjudicator this year will be Mrs Flora Wilkins BA(Hons) DipLCM (Classical and Musical Theatre). Experienced singers may enter further Classes. One or two chosen singers from each class go on to sing in the JTPTrust Final in April.

We are also starting work towards ABRSM Grade exams ready for the summer term.

REQUESTS AND REMINDERS:

• We urgently need storage space for our costumes and props, a small room size. If anyone has any ideas please let us know.
• Don’t forget that you must wear black jazz shoes or plimsoles to all lessons and concerts (not pink please). (Indoor dance shoes are part of our Health and Safety Policy ).
