West-End singer Sarah Covey is to star at the JTPTrust 10th Anniversary Gala Concert on Sunday  6 July. Sarah  is just completing a three year contract in the show ‘We Will Rock you’ where, as understudy to ‘ Killer Queen’, she has often been required to step into the top West-End role at short notice.

Sarah started lessons in the Friday Girls Ensemble when she was 15 years old and went on to win a coveted place on the postgraduate Musical Theatre Course at the Royal Academy of Music in 2009. Whilst still a member of the Trust, she was crowned Vocal and Supreme Champion in the Swindon Music Festival in both 2006 and 2008 as well as Best Female Runner up in the national talent show, ‘Live and Unsigned-South Coast Idol’ in 2007.

Sarah has always enjoyed character roles and most notably took the roles of Mrs Brunel in the original opera ‘Brunel – The Little Man in the Tall Hat’ in 2006 and the role of The Witch in YAP Theatre Company’s 2009 production of ‘Into The Woods’. Whilst at the RAM she played Petra the maid in ‘A Little Night Music’ and post RAM, Mad Margaret in ‘Ruddigore’ at the Chiswick Fringe Festival.

‘We Will Rock You’ has always been Sarah’s dream musical and she is delighted to be returning to Swindon to performs songs with the JTPTrust.
